We are now seeking experienced Procurement Managers at this exciting stage of our expansion, who will develop into RLB's future leadership team.
Role Description:
The Procurement Manager will oversee the strategic procurement and supply chain management functions, ensuring efficient and effective acquisition of goods and services for major Data Centre clients. This role will be pivotal in the successful delivery of supplier onboarding, procurement planning, RFP management, supplier relationship management, contract administration and delivery of goods and services at a project, programme, and portfolio level for our clients. The initial focus of the role will be within the Data Centre sector and could involve working with several clients across multiple projects at a time.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend client, design, project, site, and other meetings as necessary.
Prepare regular supply chain reports, advising on decisions and obtaining authorisations.
Deliver tender processes, procedures and protocols to Clients based on existing workflow guidelines and client requirements.
Manage day to day procurement and tendering activities at a project, programme and portfolio level depending on the nature of the project works.
Oversee weekly progress and dashboard reporting, documenting risks, challenges, opportunities, and milestones.
Advise on identifying and establishing work categories and packages related to project delivery requirements and project procurement strategy.
Conduct spend and market analysis, identifying cost-saving opportunities and capacity checks on suitability of supplier engagement.
Evaluate potential suppliers based on client criteria and manage the supplier selection process.
Support the formal onboarding of suppliers through Master Purchase Agreements.
Collaborate with project and client cost teams to track procurement baseline budgets and delivery.
Review existing client processes related to direct procurement.
Seek client approval for supplier selection and tender lists.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define RFP scope, requirements, and evaluation criteria.
Distribute RFP packs to pre-qualified suppliers and oversee the submission process.
Evaluate supplier proposals and support contract negotiations up to and including agreement and contract execution.
Collaborate with clients to understand and develop supplier relationship strategies.
Establish and track supplier performance evaluation processes and KPIs.
Facilitate issue resolution and continuous improvement with suppliers.
Attend change management meetings, providing contractual support.
Track and resolve claims in collaboration with the project team.
Oversee the contract lifecycle process, ensuring timely renewals and extensions.
Person Specification:
Degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Quantity Surveying, or a construction related field.
Construction Industry Experience required.
Proven track record in Procurement and preferred experience in a leadership role.
Preferential experience across Data Centre or IT projects or other high value, complex schemes.
Strong negotiation, management, and team alignment skills.
Proficient in process execution/development using software tools.
Excellent reasoning and strategic thinking abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of data centre procurement, contract agreements, and product/service knowledge.
