Job description Authorities & Responsibilities: Oversees overall activities in the procurement department and acts as a point of contact between the company and suppliers Identify potential suppliers based on sales or project requirements. Source, bid, select, and negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with vendors and suppliers. Develops and manages relationships with national/regional suppliers and contractors and leads in contract negotiations. Schedule supplier/store visits and conduct competitor surveys. Manages the supplier/contractor certification process including review of requisite experience, legal and organizational structure, financial viability, geographic coverage, insurance requirements and other capabilities. Validates & maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system. Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum production Responsible for the preparation and process purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures. Work closely with the concerned departments to ensure contract terms are favorable to the company Attend meetings with the concerned departments, vendors and suppliers Coordinate with user departments and suppliers in the purchasing scope of work for projects assigned. Managing and following up overseas orders. Ensure proper supplier performance rating based on quality, price, and delivery. Plan and manage inventory levels of materials or products. Prepare reports regarding purchase metrics. Preparing spreadsheets and obtains details for price increases. Formulates best practices procedures for the effectiveness of continuous improvement of the group. Motivates, roll-downs and educates the whole team to achieve key performance indices. Manpower optimization within teams executes proper training to improve individuals work performance, ethics and morale. Creation, revision implementation of new / procedures and eliminating excessive or redundant reports for better results of the team. Collaborates with others from diverse backgrounds in order to identify problems and find solutions. Job Specification:
Graduate of any Bachelor's Degree (pref. In Business or Engineering with specialization in Purchasing & Logistics or Supply Chain Management) At least 5 year(s) experience specializing in Purchasing/Inventory/Material & Warehouse Management; experience in a trading company is an advantage Extensive experience working in the procurement department in a related field Working knowledge of the trade industry and market conditions Strong understanding of procurement with diplomacy tact and negotiation techniques The ability to prioritize competing demands Able to travel to meet with suppliers and work as and when required Good team player with integrity, interpersonal, organization and time management skills Flexibility under pressure and in response to changing needs Good in writing, documentation, coordination and analytical skills Proficient use of computer and knowledge in Microsoft Office and ability to use industry related software program Proven record of honesty, reliability and uprightness Good organizational, administrative and time management skills Ability to work in a team, both as a leader and as a member of a team Strong leadership and people skills Must be able to calmly communicate in stressful situations and provide guidance to subordinates Excellent verbal and written communication skills Job Type: Full-time
