At Meltio we are looking for a Process Engineer to join our growing Meltio Process team!
We are a young, yet rapidly growing company, aiming to take metal 3D printing to the next level by developing high-performance, affordable, and easy-to-use metal 3D printing solutions.
What are we looking for? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineer to develop and optimize additive manufacturing processes for the Meltio M600 and Meltio Engine Blue systems, specially for Meltio Engine and its robotic and CNC Integration. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in robotic manufacturing, 3D printing, CNC programming, and material science, with a focus on maximizing the reliability, productivity, and usability of Meltio's cutting-edge technologies.
Main responsibilities: Develop pre-configured solutions for hybrid manufacturing systems.Maintain and enhance slicer software platforms (Meltio Horizon and Space)Ensure quarterly releases of Meltio Horizon, testing and validating updates prior to Ensure seamless data exchange and interoperability with robotic systems and Meltio(e.g., ABB, KUKA, FANUC, Yaskawa) and CNC controllers (e.g., FANUC, Haas).Develop and optimize robust printing profiles for Meltio materials across variable power settings and wavelengths.Collect and analyze structural data (Tension and fatigue) for material developmentUpdate material datasheets promptly following profile or lab result updates, ensuring up-to-date documentation.Manage and secure inventory of materials, documenting usage and process conditions.Assess material compatibility with wavelength absorption characteristics, defining optimal wavelengths for processes.Develop a material testing plan to reduce iterations and resources when varying power levels are available.Align material and printing profiles across standalone products and integrated systems (Engine).Plan and execute test prints for M600 and Engine Blue systems, including high-power versions.Document and communicate machine capabilities such as deposition rates, cycle times, and printable geometries.Define and implement usage protocols for Meltio products, creating necessary documentation.Collaborate with software teams to enhance UX/UI and ensure consistency across Meltio's product line.Standardize workflows for the Meltio product range.Design and deliver internal training programs on additive manufacturing processes.Provide technical support to teams during printing operations. You will be a great fit for the Meltio team if you are/have: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Robotics, or a related field.Knowledge of computational design (e.g., parametric modeling, CAD software) and coding for process optimization.And at least 2 of the following:Experience with DED (Directed Energy Deposition) or similar additive manufacturing technologies.+3 of hands-on experience with robotic manufacturing, robotic 3D printing, and welding processes.+3+ years of proficiency with CNC CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) and controllers (e.g., FANUC, Haas).+3+ years of familiarity with robotic systems such as ABB, KUKA, FANUC, or Yaskawa.Strong background in process optimization, material analysis, and structural testing.Proven ability to integrate robotic systems with manufacturing workflows.Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage complex projects.Strong communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
