Job DescriptionProcess Technology Engineer - Probiotics Valencia, Spain Position Summary: The Process Technology Engineer is concentrated in the fermentation and isolation of bulk probiotics – a fast-paced, high-growth platform for ADM. We are looking for a technical expert who is creative, hands-on, and team-oriented to support the optimization of our new facility, future expansions, and increasing our operating profit by improving the effectiveness in our operations. The candidate will provide leadership in the development of probiotic products/processes, transferring new strains to the production facilities and optimizing current operations. This will be a highly visible role with interaction with a variety of functions including Commercial, Operations, and R&D. Essential Job Functions:Collaborate with project engineers, technology engineers, the operations team and R&D to optimize the performance of the new probiotics production facility to meet strategic business plans and customer requirements.Lead the tech transfer of new strains from R&D and external partners.Assist in evaluation of potential JV and M&A opportunities in the probiotics space.Serve as a technical partner for the site including production and maintenance employees, plant operations and leadership team, other manufacturing sites, corporate engineering, S&T organizations, and external partners.Explore, propose and/or champion new process technologies and equipment suppliers to support operational improvement opportunities.Display a dedication to lead, develop and support safety and promote a safety culture. Promote continuous process safety improvement.Act as a resource for both the operations and R&D teams through coaching, mentoring, and conducting training sessions. Required Skills:Dedication to working safely and to the awareness for the safety of others.An expert understanding of probiotics fermentation processes.Experience with optimization/analytical processes and tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant engineers, operators, R&D and upper management.Working knowledge of common process drawings and documentation, such as P&IDs and control narratives.Willingness to spend time in plant areas on a regular basis.The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate in Spanish and English. Required Education:Bachelor's Degree in the field of Engineering is preferred. Candidates with a degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Processing, Production Manufacturing, Technology, or other related field will be considered. Required Experience:Position requires a minimum of 5 years' experience with probiotics development/process optimization, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
