Your mission: We are looking for an exceptional Principal DevOps Engineer to take the lead in shaping our cloud infrastructure strategy, ensuring it scales securely, efficiently, and reliably. As a senior technical leader, you will drive the adoption of best DevOps practices across the organisation, architect cloud solutions, and mentor teams to achieve operational excellence. This is an opportunity to influence large-scale infrastructure decisions, lead high-impact initiatives, and ensure that our services operate with optimal performance and security in a high-availability environment.
Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure, focusing on AWS.Architect end-to-end cloud solutions that support disaster recovery, fault tolerance, and high availability.Partner with cross-functional teams to define and implement DevOps best practices and tools across all projects.Spearhead automation initiatives for infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks like Terraform.Ensure robust security across all cloud environments, implementing industry best practices and compliance measures.Drive the monitoring and performance optimisation of services in production using advanced observability tools.Lead the design and optimisation of CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment speed and reliability using platforms like GitLab or Jenkins.Mentor and guide DevOps and development teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Minimum Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in DevOps, with at least 2 years in a staff or principal-level role.Expert-level knowledge of AWS, including deep experience with IAM, EC2, VPC, and advanced security configurations.Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform.Mastery of containerisation with hands-on experience managing large-scale containerised environments.Proven experience designing, managing, and optimising CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI or Jenkins.Strong automation and scripting skills (Bash, Python, Go or similar).Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in managing large, multi-cluster Kubernetes/EKS environments and Istio service mesh.Advanced knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK Stack for full-stack performance visibility.Deep understanding of cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and compliance (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).Experience with advanced cloud networking and architecture, including VPC design, AWS Transit Gateway and load balancing.Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a track record of leading DevOps teams to deliver scalable, secure, and performant infrastructure.Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead incident response and troubleshoot complex infrastructure challenges.It'll also be an advantage if you have experience in:
