We are also responsible for managing portfolio of investments, external relations, partnerships, and allocation of funds to meet our organization's objectives.As the principal data engineer for our Enterprise Data & Advanced Analytics organization, you have the opportunity to reengineer how we provision and make data safe, reliable, and accessible to all of Siemens Energy.How You'll Make An Impact / ResponsibilitiesDrive technical delivery and be accountable for overall data engineering strategy, data orchestration architecture, and our data operations execution framework.Define the target data architecture for Siemens Energy's data estate, considering the construct of the business areas, data domains, data products and the anticipated integration and provisioning for multi-purpose consumption patterns.Act as a product owner of our data platform and technology services to define the platform requirements and roadmap, and contribute to the design of the underlying infrastructure to facilitate data sharing, data provisioning with the necessary access management control to achieve federated data governance, i.e. data mesh framework.Define the target operating model of a modern data and AI factory, and create the framework to monitor and manage the performance and quality of integration pipelines, and to measure improve our data development velocity and efficiency.Define standards and design patterns to optimize data sharing without sacrificing flexibility, promote scale and a composable data landscape that will serve our current and future data needs.Provide good foundational frame for cost management and control for our data and platform operations.Collaborate with data owners and data delivery teams to design and execute key initiatives, defining minimum viable product (MVP) scope for the upcoming initiatives and outline future roadmap of enhancements and potential improvements.Work with enterprise architects and our IT and software engineering organizations to define data integration requirements, and the right access control framework to facilitate data provisioning at scale.Advocate modern ways of software development and being an ambassador for scrum and SAFe frameworks.Keep up to date of latest developments in data science and data engineering, and keep up to date with state-of-the-art technology to best support the business in making truly data-driven decisions.Document and present methodologies, procedures, and project results to stakeholders and data professionals across different functions.What You Bring / Skills, CapabilitiesExtensive experience in the field of Data & Analytics and Data Architecture and at least 5+ years of experience as a team lead.Excellent understanding and working knowledge of data ingestion, data modelling & analytics with broad and in-depth expertise in database and data warehouse modeling.10+ years experience in developing streaming and batch data pipelines for both cloud and hybrid infrastructures and with streaming frameworks (e.g. AWS IoT stack).Hands-on experience with modern software development tools.Extensive data analysis experience and the ability to slice & dice data as needed.Experience with cloud providers in data architecture (e.g. AWS, Azure).Good to have: Experience in data mesh implementation.You have a strong customer focus and excellent communication skills to collaborate across multicultural, global teams and proven experience in navigating complex, matrixed organization, and driving outcome at scale.You are open-minded, love to learn and constantly improve own skills.You have excellent writing and communication skills in English, knowledge of German or any other language is a plus.About The TeamThe Data & Advanced Analytics organization has been established and designed to help Siemens Energy achieve our mission by becoming a data driven organization.
