About the role The Cloud Infrastructure Architect's role is to help keep that transformation as standardized and evolved as possible, contributing to the overall strategy, project execution, and operations in his/her areas of expertise.

He/she ensures that cloud applications and infrastructure are breach-resistant and breach-ready, promoting infrastructure standards, rules, and technologies throughout the entire cloud ecosystem.

The Cloud Infrastructure Architect will work closely with the Cloud Operations and Development teams as well as business lines, ensuring the standards and governance around cloud infrastructure principles are adhered to and respected at all times.

This is a role with technical know-how and leadership qualities to drive infrastructure initiatives from start to finish and presents opportunities to advise on the global cloud infrastructure strategy in IT strategies and programs.

Key Responsibilities Define enterprise-class, cloud infrastructure architectures. Conduct cloud infrastructure architecture assessments, define, and maintain solutions as part of a global reference architecture repository. Implement enterprise-class, cloud infrastructure architectures. Oversee and guide the build, delivery, and run of the required cloud infrastructure architecture. Provide the work's technical conscience, defining and driving the right solution to meet the technical performance, scalability, flexibility, operations, and capability needs. Design and ensure that technology standards are followed and evolve over time. Provide cloud-infrastructure architecture Quality Assurance reviews and ensure compliance with architecture standards globally. Support technology solutioning and estimating in proposals for change, planning, and pricing. Conduct cloud infrastructure architecture assessments and define future solutions and roadmaps. Liaise with Global Information Security as required. Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure standards in partnership with Operations and Application Development. Provide support as required during critical (high) incidents related to the cloud. Lead investigations and take corrective/preventive actions. Lead training and technical forums, serve as both a formal and informal mentor, and execute other initiatives designed to share knowledge across the enterprise. What qualifications will make you successful for this role? Essential: 5 years' experience as an IT Infrastructure Architect and/or Engineer 3 years' experience architecting IT Infrastructure solutions in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft, Linux RHEL and its variants, Ubuntu, and Amazon Linux Advanced knowledge of OS machine image configuration, preparation, and management Strong working knowledge of Configuration and Infrastructure as Code concepts Advanced cloud networking knowledge covering macro and micro-segmentation, VPCs, sub-netting, route tables, VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, IPsec, Load Balancing, Transit Gateways. Advanced network services knowledge: DHCP, DNS, AWS Route53, NTP. Authentication, Directory Services, LDAP, and IAM: Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Certificate Services, PKI, Single Sign-On, AWS IAM, AWS Identity Center Advanced cloud management, logging, and monitoring tools knowledge such as Inspector, AWS CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, Config, Trusted Advisor, CloudFront Advanced knowledge of cloud backup management services such as EBS snapshots, AWS backup, Storage Gateway Advanced knowledge of AWS Organizations, Service Control Policies, and AWS Control Tower to create landing zones Advanced cloud and on-premise compute and app service knowledge covering AWS EC2, ECS, Lambda, Batch, SSM, AWS Step Functions, SWF, API Gateway Advanced cloud storage knowledge covering AWS S3, EFS, Glacier, Storage Gateway Advanced cloud messaging knowledge covering AWS SNS, SQS, and SES Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a team environment Ability to work independently with minimal direction; self-starter/self-motivated Desirable: Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF and Zachmann Experience with AWS Service Catalog and IaC tooling such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible Relevant professional certifications: Cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure) Project management methodologies (PMBoK, PRINCE2, Agile), Dev/SecOps, and Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF, Gartner Methodology) Technical writing experience What's in it for you?
