Position Overview Principal Auditor - ERM Madrid About the team and your role Group Audit serves as Deutsche Bank's independent 'Third line of Defense', proactively assisting the bank's business and infrastructure areas to identify control weaknesses. As a Principal Auditor in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing audits on strategic topics at Deutsche Bank. Together with colleagues from various audit areas, you will work on global audits with a focus on ERM. The Auditor will report into the ERM Principal Audit Manager (PAM) who reports directly into the Non-Financial, Enterprise and Asia Pacific Risk Management Chief Auditor (CA).
Your key responsibilities Work independently on and occasionally lead audit assignments of enterprise risk management, such as Risk Appetite, Recovery and Resolution, Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), Strategic risk, Stress-Testing and Climate & Environmental (C&E) risk. Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and based on the results, draft audit findings/reports for review by audit management. Facilitate issue tracking and validate closure of issues. Occasionally, be in charge of ad-hoc audits on Board-related topics and regulatory requests. Partner with other audit teams (regionally and/or globally) during the audit engagements to ensure comprehensive coverage and an integrated approach to front to back audits of ERM process and its associated support functions. Lead and execute the audit fieldwork in line with the agreed audit approach, e.g. identifying key risks and testing of key controls to determine whether these controls are properly designed and are operating effectively in accordance with Group Audit (GA) standards. Document work results within agreed budgets and timelines in accordance with divisional standards. Act as challenger to clients in the development of remediation plans and during the issue closure process. Proactively keep abreast of pertinent industry, regulatory and business practices in topics of project management and enterprise risks, developing while maintaining a professional network with colleagues, stakeholders, and relevant support areas. Communicate openly with GA management and the internal stakeholders; keep them informed of potential issues and escalate problems/delays accordingly. Your skills and experiences Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in business administration, economics and/or science from an accredited college or university; including some knowledge of auditing standards and concepts. Awareness of general banking environment and/or risks and regulatory requirements, preferably in the areas of project management and enterprise risk. Certifications as CIA, ACAMS, PMP or equivalent qualification in audit, project management, process-/quality management, FRM or CFA or CESGA would be an advantage. Advanced knowledge of Office applications. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, relationship management and presentation skills. Ability to work in virtual, global teams in a matrix organization, openness for occasional travel. Fluent English both verbally and in writing.
