We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pre-Sales Engineer with expertise in Networking and Security to join our team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our sales team and ensuring that our clients receive tailored, cutting-edge solutions that meet their specific technical needs.
As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, presenting, and validating comprehensive networking and security solutions to customers while working closely with both internal teams and external clients.
This position requires an individual with a strong technical background in networking and cybersecurity technologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The ideal candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality results while maintaining a customer-centric focus.
Key Accountabilities: Engage with customers and prospects during the pre-sales process to understand their technical requirements Supports the salesforce and leads the technical aspect of the selling process including the developing and conducting of professional product presentations and demonstrations to generate sales and meet revenue objectives Works closely with sales representatives that support both direct sales and reseller sales channels Provides overall leadership on initiatives and projects Builds trusted relationships with sales teams and client accounts, such that they can leverage their domain and/or business/industry expertise to increase the company's credibility and communicate the company value proposition primarily in sales situations that advance the sales Carrying out tender responses, answering and expanding on functional / technical requirements within complex tender documents of potential clients Actively research and maintain a thorough understanding of our own products and competitor strengths and weaknesses Serve as a technical expert on company products and solutions, providing guidance and support to customers and prospects Deliver product demonstrations, proof of concepts, and other technical content Working with the Pre-Sales Manager and the Business Development/Launch Manager to ensure that all sales documentation and collateral is kept up to date and relevant Responsibilities: Client Needs Assessment and Solution Design: Engage with clients to understand their technical requirements, challenges, and business objectives.
Conduct thorough assessments of client networks, infrastructure, and security policies to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
Design tailored networking and security solutions, including recommending the right products, configurations, and deployment strategies.
Collaborate with the sales team to create and present technical proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs.
Solution Presentations and Technical Demos: Lead product demonstrations and technical presentations, showcasing how proposed solutions address client requirements.
Perform Proof of Concepts (PoC) or pilots to demonstrate the functionality and benefits of networking and security solutions in a real-world environment.
Clearly articulate the value proposition of each solution and answer any technical questions or concerns raised by the client.
Bid Support and Proposal Documentation: Work closely with the sales team to prepare detailed technical documentation, proposals, and responses to RFPs (Request for Proposals).
Provide accurate technical specifications, timelines, and cost estimates for proposed solutions.
Ensure that all proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and secure, addressing both current and future needs.
Customer Training and Support: Provide initial training and guidance to clients on the deployment and management of networking and security solutions.
Offer continuous technical support during the sales cycle and assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise.
Collaborate with post-sales teams to ensure smooth implementation and integration of the solutions.
Relationship Building and Industry Knowledge: Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, including technical decision-makers and influencers within the client organization.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in networking and cybersecurity to ensure that proposed solutions are innovative and meet market demands.
Continuously enhance personal technical expertise and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Desired Skills and Qualifications: Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of networking technologies (e.g., LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, routers, switches, wireless, VPN, load balancers).
Expertise in cybersecurity solutions including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, SIEM, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence.
Familiarity with cloud networking and security (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, cloud firewalls).
Knowledge of network management tools and security monitoring systems .
Experience in designing and implementing network topologies and security architectures for enterprises.
Certifications (Preferred): Cisco Certifications: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) – Foundation in networking concepts and configurations.
CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) – Advanced networking concepts and troubleshooting.
CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) – Expert-level certification for advanced networking and network architecture.
Juniper Networks Certifications: JNCIA (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate) – Entry-level certification in networking with Juniper products.
JNCIP (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional) – Advanced certification for professionals working with Juniper networking products.
JNCIE (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert) – Expert-level certification for managing complex networking environments.
Fortinet Certifications: NSE 4 (Fortinet Network Security Expert) – Validates expertise in managing and implementing Fortinet security solutions, including firewalls.
NSE 5, 6, 7, 8 – Advanced certifications covering more complex configurations and management of security solutions.
Palo Alto Networks Certifications: PCNSA (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator) – Certification that proves the ability to manage and implement Palo Alto firewalls.
PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer) – Advanced certification for professionals working with Palo Alto security products.
CompTIA Certifications: CompTIA Network – Fundamental certification that covers networking principles and troubleshooting.
CompTIA Security – Foundational security certification covering network security concepts.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP): Global certification for professionals managing information security programs, covering a wide range of security topics.
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH): Validates knowledge of ethical hacking techniques for identifying and addressing network vulnerabilities.
Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-solving mindset and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to demonstrate solutions to diverse audiences.
Team-oriented, with a strong focus on collaboration and achieving sales and technical goals together.
Experience: Proven experience (typically 3 years) in a pre-sales engineering role, specifically in the areas of networking and security.
Experience working with enterprise-level clients and understanding their networking and cybersecurity needs.
Ability to handle multiple client engagements simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
