NoOffer Description Job positionPredoctoral ResearcherThe WRENCH project aims to: (i) enhance knowledge on the effects of climate change on heritage; (ii) analyze how communities perceive, inhabit, and envision their heritage in the context of climate change; (iii) survey existing practices and develop new ones for the living conservation of heritage; (iv) employ heritage as storytelling tools to make visible the risks of climate change.The candidate will conduct empirical research on one of the two case studies in the project: (1) the Rio Matanza-Riachuelo in Buenos Aires as a place of industrial heritage; (2) the Montes de Galicia as a natural/cultural heritage site. In the application, the candidate should clearly state their interest in one of the two case studies.As a member of the team, the Pre-doctoral researcher will produce: 1 academic article, 1 book chapter, 1 non-academic article, and a white paper on the revitalization of the chosen site in the context of climate change.Additionally, the candidate will participate in project activities, providing support for research conducted on other sites by project partners.Conducting empirical research, participating in the project's activities, writing academic and non-academic papers, and supporting the project's Principal Investigator (PI) in coordination efforts.Job position requirements (skills/languages/required experience)The candidate must hold a Master degree. While the disciplinary background is open, preference will be given to candidates with research experience in one of the following fields: environmental history, urban planning, political ecology, heritage studies, museography, or environmental humanities.Proficiency in GIS, graphic design software, and database software is considered advantageous.The working language of the project will be English; therefore, the candidate must have an excellent command of that language. Spanish proficiency is required for both case studies, and proficiency in Galego is preferred for the relevant case study.
