Descripción The group led by Iván Plaza-Menacho is looking for a PhD student position focused on the structure, function and pharmacology of protein kinases implicated in cancer.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a background in cell biology and tissue culture, biochemistry and structural biology.Criterios de evaluación– Biochemistry, Biology or related areas.
– Proven experience in molecular biology, protein expression-purification, protein biochemistry as well as exposure to structural biology.
– Technical knowledge and experience in other complementary disciplines such as cellular biology and signaling will be very positively valued.
– Good lab technical skills and abilities, versatile and multifaceted researcher able to multitask.

Molecular biology (cloning and mutagenesis).

Tissue culture (insect cells and cancer cell lines).

Protein expression in different heterologous systems (bacterial and/or insect cells using baculovirus) and purification affinity, size-exclusion and ionic-exchange chromatography.

Protein biochemistry (WBs and phosphorylation assays) and biophysics (enzymatic assays, DSF, calorimetry, AUC).
– Good level of English speaking and writing.
– Detailed documentation of all experimental work is essential.
