DescripciónThe group led by Iván Plaza-Menacho is looking for a PhD student position focused on the structure, function and pharmacology of protein kinases implicated in cancer. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a background in cell biology and tissue culture, biochemistry and structural biology.
Criterios de evaluaciónEducation: Biochemistry, Biology or related areas.Experience: Proven experience in molecular biology, protein expression-purification, protein biochemistry as well as exposure to structural biology.Complementary skills: Technical knowledge and experience in other complementary disciplines such as cellular biology and signaling will be very positively valued.Lab skills: Good lab technical skills and abilities, versatile and multifaceted researcher able to multitask.Technical skills:Molecular biology (cloning and mutagenesis).Tissue culture (insect cells and cancer cell lines).Protein expression in different heterologous systems (bacterial and/or insect cells using baculovirus) and purification affinity, size-exclusion and ionic-exchange chromatography.Protein biochemistry (WBs and phosphorylation assays) and biophysics (enzymatic assays, DSF, calorimetry, AUC).Language skills: Good level of English speaking and writing.Documentation: Detailed documentation of all experimental work is essential.Interpersonal skills: Good communication and teamwork skills.Se ofreceThe opportunity to be part of a Cancer Research Centre of excellence.Competitive salary.An energetic working environment.Contract linked to a project.
