NoOffer Description Applications are invited by the University of Alicante President to cover a fixed-term contractual position as a pre-doctoral researcher to collaborate in the project "Rational design of hybrid materials for lighting and photocatalysis (NANOLIGHT)" of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry. Reference: I-PI 119-24Project CIPROM/2023/2 funded by the Valencia Region Government's Department of Education, Culture, Universities and EmploymentThe successful candidate will collaborate in the research project "Rational design of hybrid materials for lighting and photocatalysis (NANOLIGHT) (CIPROM/2023/2)", funded by the Valencia Region Government's Department of Education, Culture, Universities and Employment, undertaking doctoral training in cooperation with a University of Alicante research group – specifically, the Molecular Nanotechnology Laboratory – to pursue a doctoral thesis and carrying out the following research tasks:Synthesis and characterisation of carbon dots.Synthesis and characterisation of photoactive materials based on semiconductors.Synthesis and characterisation of photoactive materials based on silicas and/or zeolites.Determination of the optical and photophysical properties of the synthesised systems.Evaluation of the applicability of the materials.Assistance in writing related reports and scientific publications.Any other task related to this job position that may arise during the implementation of the project.Job Profile Preference will be given to those with:Experience and training related to the tasks listed above, including:Encapsulation of carbon dots in inorganic matrices.Characterisation techniques, including X-ray diffraction (DRX, elemental analysis), spectroscopy (IR, Raman, XPS, UV-visible spectroscopy), NMR, chromatography/mass spectroscopy (mass spectroscopy, HPLC), morphological characterisation (TEM, EDX and SEM) and textural characterisation, applied to nanoparticles, carbon dots and/or porous inorganic matrices.Characterisation of optical, electronic and photophysical properties.Evaluation of hybrid materials in photonic and photocatalytic applications.Qualification: official Master's degrees in Chemistry, in Chemical Engineering, in Materials Engineering, in Materials Science or in Molecular Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (Spanish MECES level 3 or EQF level 7), or any other official Master's degree with equivalent content
