As part of the Trading & Origination department, the South European Origination team concludes non-standard, structured and often complex transactions in wholesale energy markets in Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy.
Thereby, it cooperates closely with Statkraft's trading desks and the other regional Origination teams to offer pan-European tailored energy solutions.
The responsibilities within South European Origination are divided into Origination Iberia, Origination France/Italy, Portfolio Management, and Pricing & Fundamentals.
While the Origination teams focus on originating, structuring, and negotiating value-enhancing new transactions,
the Portfolio Management manages the entire portfolio exposure in the market across the curve until delivery.
Pricing & Fundamentals will provide the analysis, structuring, and pricing platform to all non-standard commodity contracts.
All teams closely collaborate on a joint 'one team - one PnL' philosophy per market.
Statkraft Southern European Origination has been a first mover on long-term PPAs in Spain and a leader in unsubsidized PPAs with more than 40 wind and solar PPAs contracted.
In addition, the portfolio consists of tailor-made long-term agreements with IPPs/generators and large end customers as well as other non-standard flexible and structured wholesale products.
Southern European Origination holds one of the largest route-to-market renewables portfolios in France.
The business is planning to significantly grow its business in regional and product scope over the next years.
Job Description
Your role: You will report to the Vice President Southern European Origination and be part of his management team.
The key aspects of the role are assisting in the end-to-end origination business administration as well as business and strategy development.
You will support the VP in ensuring that the business is run in a well-controlled and efficient way.
The position requires that the individual:
Builds positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders; develops rapport with support teams in different functional areas across the organization (BO, MO, Finance, and IT) to provide high-quality service for the trading department.Is a creative problem-solver with good multi-tasking skills and able to prioritize issues and resolve them efficiently.Leads or participates in projects relevant for the growth of the Southern European Origination business.Qualifications
Your profile:
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with a high level of attention to detail.Previous experience in energy markets is an advantage, particularly exposure to trading, origination, analysis, and/or risk management.Previous experience as a consultant is an advantage.Ability to quickly grasp complex problems and structure solutions.Project management and stakeholder management skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong PowerPoint skills.
