OW, a controlled 50/50 joint venture between EDP and Engie, is looking for a problem-solving and communicative PPA Associate . GENERAL DESCRIPTION You will join the Energy Management team of OW (part of the Business Development area), which operates across different geographies globally to (1) originate new PPA contracts (from marketing projects to potential customers up to the final negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Utilities or Corporates, (2) manage existing energy-related contracts and (3) carry out market intelligence analysis. This position implies (i) a relevant level of responsibility and internal visibility (ii) curiosity and flexibility towards new challenges (iii) strong presentation and communication skills and (iv) is aimed at profiles with a high attention to detail and goal oriented. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES • Support in the complete chain from the origination to the execution of PPAs with Utilities and Corporates in the designated regions. • Direct the company's participation in offtakers' Requests for Proposals (RfPs) directly or through third-party advisors and/or consultants' platforms. • Manage the execution of supporting commercial documents such as non-binding and binding offers, letters of intent, term-sheets, and non-disclosure agreements. • Create and mantain relationships with prospective offtakers. • Contractual review and analysis of energy-related contracts (i.e., long-term PPAs and Route-to-Market PPAs). • Prepare documentation directed either to (i) Offtakers (commercial presentations) and to (ii) OW's Top Management. • Develop PPA Market Intelligence in existing markets (i.e., PPA Market Soundings) • Coordinate with OW internal relevant departments (M&A, Finance, Risk, Legal, R&M, local Business Units, Asset Operations, …) or external stakeholders when needed. • Maintain the departmental reporting line (both through periodic and special purpose reports). • Analyze (in collaboration with other areas) and provide in depth research of market mechanisms, regulatory changes affecting renewables, market insights (grid code, market share, counterparty, etc.) and any other support needed for the Origination activities (i.e. new market and/or product analysis). ACADEMIC BACKGROUND Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, Civil) or Business Administration. LANGUAGES Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 1-3 years former experience in electric power industry (inc. energy trading, PPA power sales, structured origination, and/or commercial strategy). KNOWLEDGE • Electricity/energy markets regulation and renewable energy technologies. • Basic financial modelling and economic analysis. • Excellent presentation and communications skills (written and oral). • Experience dealing with energy or financial contracts. SKILLS • Driven and proactive. • Strong analytical skills. • Able to handle both internal and external stakeholders. • Able to develop and enhance customer relationships. • Adaptable. • Excel and PowerPoint. Power BI or CRMs would be a plus. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Willingness to travel.
