Position: Power Risk Engineer
Location: Jeddah office
What can you expect: The role will be heavily client facing, surveying client's Power assets, producing risk assessments, loss estimates and conducting training and benchmarking exercises. The role offers the opportunity to interact with senior client staff in Risk Management, Operations, and Engineering functions. The ability to communicate to all organisational levels is a critical competency. For newly recruited Risk Engineers, Marsh offers a six-month training and development programme.

We will rely on you to: Conduct standard risk engineering surveys, which are crucial to successful placement of insurance within the Power industry. A survey consists of a typically 2-3 day visit to a client facility, interviews with key management teams and site tours. The output is an engineering report that details:Description of the site operationsAn analysis of Loss Prevention / Mitigation featuresA ranking of the quality of the site and recommendations for improvementEstimation of property damage, often using our bespoke modelling softwareCarry out risk assessments of construction sites and reviews of new projects for Marsh's clients.Support the Broking team in placing risks in international insurance markets.Continuously develop internal engineering Technical Methods.Travel regionally and worldwide (typically 70-90 days per year).What you need to have: 8+ years' experience in the operation of power generating facilities.Sound working knowledge of power generation industry technologies.Exposure to risk assessed driven decision-making relevant to the field of expertise.Ability to articulate internal and external business goals and overall strategies needed to attain these goals.Comply with and check performance against professional standards and best practices.IT literacy, including general office systems such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint (or similar).
