MissionThe Power Market Analyst will focus on Spanish and Portuguese power markets to support the management of Engie assets in the region.
Main TasksAnalyze and understand the fundamentals of power, and ideally gas markets (Iberia).Develop and maintain power supply/demand models together with the team of analysts, data scientists and IT support.Develop and maintain models for various supply/demand components (consumption, renewable production, etc).Work closely, daily, with traders and portfolio managers; provide real-time support and insights, actionable trade ideas.Liaise and coordinate with GEM's market analysis teams.Develop and maintain market data, analysis, recurrent reports and presentations.Analyze competitors' behaviors.Advise GEM and Engie entities about market evolution and the impact on asset valuation and risk management.Promote team spirit and collaboration.RequirementsMaster's degree or PhD in relevant area (engineering, mathematics, etc).3 to 5 years experience in energy market fundamental analysis.In-depth understanding of power markets.Strong analytical skills, programming skills (Python) and ability to build models.Fluent in English (C1-C2). Portuguese will be appreciated.Knowledge in Big Data and Quantitative Analysis.Experience in a trading environment: Ability to work with traders, to translate market analyses into propositions/strategies and to communicate them clearly.
