JOB DESCRIPTION:
CIC energiGUNE is seeking for a postdoctoral researcher to join the Degradation Mechanisms, Ageing, and Safety of Batteries Research Group.
Main functions:
Identification and understanding of the degradation mechanisms in lithium metal batteries (LMBs) by advanced characterization techniques.
Electrochemical characterization and in-depth analysis of LMBs.
Study of interphases and interfaces evolution on LMBs.
Design and perform destructive part analysis (post mortem) of LMBs.
Area: Electrochemical energy storage (EES)
Research group: Degradation Mechanisms, ageing and safety

Requirements:
PhD in Electrochemistry, Materials Science or similar. Applications with Doctor of Engineering with specialization in interphases and/or electrochemistry are also welcome.
Strong knowledge in degradation mechanisms on batteries.
Strong knowledge in electrochemistry.
Critical thinker and problem solver with preferred interest in technology transfer.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
The following additional experience and skills will be highly valued:
Expertise in Lithium metal batteries.
Experience in the study of interphases.
Experience in cell opening.
Experience with characterization techniques, such as SEM, Raman, FTIR, NMR, XRD, XPS, micro CT, etc.
