NoOffer Description We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with expertise in medical image processing and algorithm development to join our stroke research group.
The position focuses on developing innovative image processing tools for head CT imaging to deepen our understanding of vascular anatomy, particularly vascular tortuosity, and advanced thrombus analysis.
These advancements aim to enhance mechanical thrombectomy procedures, especially for distal occlusions. Our projects include translational research with deep learning vision algorithms (e.G., CNNs, ViT) and graph neural networks, mainly focused on improving stroke care by introducing advanced processing onto pre-interventional medical imaging (i.E., CT) to derive powerful decision support for endovascular treatment in stroke. Our strengths reside in wide availability of data (internal and external sources through strong collaborations), close contact with clinicians (you will always be designing solutions aimed at solving a specific need) and full pipeline for development and deployment (there will exists the necessary infrastructure and support for deployment of developed solutions).Main responsibilities and duties:Lead engineering projects in the medical image context from beginning to end.Manage large image databases within the hospital.Turn your engineering projects into clinical and technical publications.Write grant applications for financing.Supervise PhD projects and other students.Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, English (business level).Validated experience in medical image/deep learning projects (any publication record will be valued).Familiarity with medical imaging modalities (e.G., CT, MRI, DSA, etc.)
and image formats (DICOM, NIFTI).Experience in training, testing and/or deploying deep learning solutions (models developed in PyTorch).Experience and knowledge: Required:At least 4 years of demonstrated research experience.Proven expertise in research as demonstrated by strong publishing record in relevant journals and conferences.Fluency in Python.Expertise in grant writing.SQL.Additional Information Labour conditions:Full-time position: 40h/week.Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills.
