The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Suero research group.
This position will be funded by the European Research Council – ERC Proof of Concept project Cyclo-warhead.
ICIQ is one of the world's internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: Sustainable Catalysis , Renewable Energy and Health .
The institute also aims at training the future generation of scientists by offering high-quality educational programs to master, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (full details on http://www.iciq.org/ ).
Description of the project : Over the past two decades the pharmaceutical industry has witnessed an exponential growth in approved covalent drugs.
Majority of such drugs incorporate a chemical warhead, a mild electrophilic reactive functional group that forms covalent bonds in a reversible or irreversible manner with nucleophilic aminoacid residues.
The aim of this project is to assess the viability of a new chemical warhead in the discovery of novel kinase inhibitors.
Responsibilities Design and discovery of novel kinase inhibitors with new chemical warheads.
Writing reports, preparation of scientific articles, and presentation of results in group meetings and conferences.
Complete documentation of research results.
