.IRTA is currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Researcher to join our research team in the field of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) with a One Health Perspective within the Animal Health Program.
The postdoctoral researcher will work in the EU-JAMRAI 2 "Join Action Antimicrobial Resistance and Health Care-Associated Infections" aiming to lead the fight against AMR through joint and coordinated action across Europe, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration among countries, institutions, and sectors, to safeguard the effectiveness of antimicrobial.
The researcher will focus on setting up the basis for piloting studies in antimicrobial surveillance using phenotypic and genotypic tools, such as minimal inhibitory concentration, and next generation sequencing technologies (Illumina and Nanopore), together with the implementation of IPC measures including biosecurity in animal health to reduce the consumption of antimicrobials.

Tasks and Responsibilities: Applying AMR surveillance using phenotypic and genotypic tools including Next Generation Sequencing Technologies (Illumina and Nanopore).
Identification and description of the key-components for IPC/biosecurity in veterinary medicine and evaluate these in different longitudinal practice-oriented case-studies.
Performance of literature review, data collection and management, involving statistical analysis.
Contribution to the high scientific and technological impact projects in the field of data science/epidemiology in collaboration with the group of researchers in antimicrobial stewardship.
Execution of scientific and technical tasks and taking part in the planning and execution of the planned studies to ensure the achievement of milestones of research projects and contracts.
Contribution to positioning the Program as a group of excellence through regular peer-reviewed publications, contributions at national and international congresses.
Actively contribution to fund-rising through the preparation and submission of project proposals for public competitive calls and for contracts with the private sector, as well as reporting process, such as writing progress and final reports of research activities
