.Job InformationPublished: 25/10/2024Deadline: 15/12/2024Envisaged Job Starting Date: January 2025Position OverviewOne postdoctoral position is available in the Heterogenous biocatalysis group to discover and engineer new C-C forming enzymes for their further integration in artificial metabolic networks. The project aims at discovering and engineering new C-C forming enzymes for the condensation of simple organic compounds into multi-functional and branched molecules. This project will be developed in the framework of ERC-Consolidator project (METACELL) funded by the European Union in the context of the Horizon 2020 program. This is an interdisciplinary project that seeks to broaden the toolbox for C-C coupling reactions using biocatalysis, with the ultimate goal of integrating the best enzymes into artificial metabolic networks for the biomanufacturing of chiral fine chemicals. The project will be carried out under an international environment and will bridge enzyme and metabolic engineering through a multidisciplinary research plan. This project will be supervised by Prof. López-Gallego (Heterogeneous Biocatalysis laboratory) from the CIC biomaGUNE.Minimum RequirementsRequired Education Level: PhD degree in microbiology, biochemistry, or biotechnology.Required Skills/Qualifications: Expertise in microbiology and/or protein engineering for biocatalysis is mandatory. Skills in organic chemistry are welcome, as well as in analytical chemistry for organic molecules characterization (HPLC, GC, NMR, MS).Project DetailsDuration: Contract linked to the development of the reference project.Project Funding: METACELL - 818089 - (European Research Council (ERC) - H2020)Application ProcessInformal Inquiries: Informal requests for additional information can be sent to Fernando López Gallego at ******.
