It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is now hosting entity for EuroHPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries. The main areas of activity of the unit have included:Research on sex and gender biases in health and Artificial Intelligence.Study the spread of disinformation in the media and on social networks, tracking its propagation and regarding the evolution of narratives.Conducting a comprehensive evaluation of AI applications in the health sector, considering technical, human, and social dimensions.Leading the Bioinfo4Women cross-cutting program within the life sciences department.The funding for these actions/fellowships and contracts comes from the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility - Next Generation, within the framework of the General Invitation by the public business entity Red.Es to participate in the talent attraction and retention programs.Key DutiesLead project development efforts related to disinformation, focusing on health and climate change narratives.Develop and conduct technical research on innovative tools to evaluate the influence and repercussions of disinformation disseminated through social media platforms.Implement research approaches in LLM applications within the field of disinformation.Support the Life Sciences department projects and proposals with the interdisciplinary development of social and technical understanding of the spread of disinformation on social networks.Manage part of the group ´s relationships with other institutions of interest (both public and private).Manage students in an efficient work environment.Write, participate and present national funding proposals and European funding Horizon calls
