Descripción
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join Roger Castells-Graells' lab at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO).
The successful candidate will work on innovative biomolecular designs for biomedical and cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) applications, utilizing protein design, structural biology, and AI-driven tools.
This research builds on recent advancements in protein design (Castells-Graells et al., 2023; Meador et al., 2024).
We are looking for a motivated and passionate scientist excited to contribute to groundbreaking research in a collaborative and supportive environment.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant field, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: biochemistry, protein design, virology, structural biology, machine learning, or cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM).
This fully funded, four-year position is ideal for researchers who have recently completed their doctoral studies or are looking to further develop their research skills.
At CNIO, you will have the opportunity to work with world-class scientists in an institute renowned for its excellent facilities and high-quality research.
In the Biomolecular Design and Structural Nanomedicine lab (PI: Roger Castells-Graells), we combine protein design, structural biology, and synthetic biology, leveraging AI-driven approaches to engineer protein cages, nanomachines, and other biomolecules with precise functions.
By integrating these innovations with detailed studies of viral structures, we explore new ways to manipulate biological systems.
Our goal is to translate these advances into nanomedicine, developing cutting-edge imaging tools for cryo-EM and therapeutic platforms that address critical challenges in cancer and human health.
For informal inquiries, you can contact Dr. Roger Castells-Graells (******) or Dr. Oscar Llorca (******). More information can be found at: www.rcglab.com .
