NoOffer Description ThermoGas is a collaborative project aiming to demonstrate the feasibility of operating anaerobic digesters under thermophilic conditions for the treatment and hygienization of sewage sludge in wastewater treatment plants. The Environmental Biotechnology research group at the University of Barcelona is responsible for supporting the operation and data analysis of two pilot-scale anaerobic digesters, as well as handling the processing of microbial community data, such as extraction and statistical analysis, among others.The hired postdoc will be responsible for the following tasks:Supporting the operation of pilot-scale anaerobic digesters.Extracting nucleic acids, handling samples, and processing microbiome data.Performing statistical analyses and drawing conclusions from the obtained results.Writing reports and preparing scientific publications.Supporting general lab operations and maintenance, attending meetings, and participating in other typical academic tasks such as mentoring students, collaborating on grant applications, and contributing to departmental activities.Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field.PhD Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field.Specific Requirements Knowledge in anaerobic digestion and environmental biotechnologies.Practical experience in operating laboratory or pilot-scale anaerobic digesters.Extraction of nucleic acids and processing and interpretation of microbiome data.Conducting statistical analyses and drawing conclusions from the obtained results.Writing reports and scientific publications.Languages SPANISH: ExcellentENGLISH: GoodResearch Field Engineering, Environmental scienceYears of Research Experience: 4 - 10Additional Information Eligibility criteria:Adequacy of the CV (max. 25)Bachelor's degree in the specialty (max. 5)Master's degree in the specialty (max. 5)Doctorate of the specialty (max. 15), generic doctorate (max. 5)Letter of motivation (max. 15)Experience related to the skills required for the position (max
