Funciones:The Fortes lab at CIMA (University of Navarra, Spain) is looking for a postdoctoral student with a molecular biology background and skills in RNA biology to investigate the interplay between DNA damage and functional non-coding RNAs.The Fortes lab ( https://cima.Cun.Es/en ) aims to develop biotechnological tools based on natural long non-coding RNAs and derived microproteins or on artificial non-coding sequences. We work to deliver these novel RNA therapeutics into tumor cells with a special focus on hepatocellular carcinoma. We have a network of outstanding collaborators to expand our expertise from the benchtop to preclinical models and to the clinical setting.Your role:The successful candidate will work on a cutting-edge experimental research project that moves from single molecule studies performed in close collaboration (AFM, cryo-EM, magnetic tweezers, C-trap), and genetic evolution (SELEX) or identification of natural lncRNA mimics with novel high-throughput technology to cellular validations and preclinical models. The goal of the project is to contribute with exquisite technology with translation potential to the future understanding of the RNA code: the set of rules that link RNA sequence with structure and function. The complete project involves a combination of molecular biology, biophysics, and structural biology. This project is in close collaboration with Fernando Pastor (also at CIMA), Oscar Llorca (CNIO, Madrid), and Fernando Moreno-Herrero (CNB, Madrid), and will involve regular communication and scientific exchange with the collaborators.Requisitos:You have:PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related disciplines (or close to finishing PhD).Passion for science. Strong interest in the research topic, high motivation, and commitment.Experience with RNA and high-throughput studies, cell culture techniques, and willingness to work with preclinical models.Ability to work independently and creatively, coming up with innovative solutions to complex scientific problems, in an international team with a highly collaborative atmosphere.Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills. Fluency in English. You might also have:Experience with SELEX, CUT&RUN, or RADICLSeq.Expertise in DNA damage.Experience in data analysis (R, Python).Se ofrece:Initial contract duration: 2 years. To Apply:Send an email to ****** with:Resume or CV. Include 3 names and email addresses for recommendation letters.Cover Letter stating why you are interested in this challenge and how you might help the Project to succeed.#J-18808-Ljbffr
