Postdoctoral Fellow – Microprotein Studies

Funciones:The Fortes lab at CIMA (University of Navarra, Spain) is looking for a postdoctoral student with a molecular biology background to screen and investigate the role of microproteins expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with the final goal of developing novel anticancer vaccines.The Fortes lab (https://cima.cun.es/en) aims to develop biotechnological tools based on natural long non-coding RNAs and derived microproteins or on artificial non-coding sequences. We work to deliver these novel RNA therapeutics with a special focus on HCC. We have a network of outstanding collaborators to expand our expertise from the benchtop preclinical models to the clinical setting.Your role:The successful candidate will work on a cutting-edge experimental research project that moves from the identification of HCC-expressed microproteins to functional studies towards therapeutic applications. The project is highly collaborative, involving clinicians from two different hospitals, molecular biologists, immunologists, chemists, and bioinformatic and proteomics experts.Requisitos:You have:PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related disciplines (or close to finishing PhD).Passion for science. Strong interest in the research topic, high motivation, and commitment.Experience with CRISPR screens, including prime editing, library generation, and high-throughput studies.Ability to work independently and creatively, coming up with innovative solutions to complex scientific problems, in an international team with a highly collaborative atmosphere.Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
