Offer Description ICFO is offering postdoctoral positions to well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientists who wish to enhance their scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.
The successful candidates will join the Optoelectronics group led by Prof. Dr. Valerio Pruneri .
The group specializes in the study and development of advanced materials, devices, and systems for information and communication technologies, particularly in displays, image sensors, and secure communications. The main focus is applied research that bridges academia and industry, developing fundamental ideas with potential for revolutionizing future photonic products.
Candidates will work on projects related to classical and quantum photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and must have experience in design, simulation, characterization, or packaging of PICs. The aim is to develop next-generation PIC-based technologies, including classical photonic processing and quantum communication, sensing, and metrology.
Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the near future), preferably in Physics, Photonics, or Engineering.
Minimum Requirements The candidate should have a proven track record in one or more of the following:
PIC simulation
PIC fabrication
PIC characterization
PIC packaging
Good research independence and project management skills are expected. Experience in integrated quantum photonics is an asset.
Languages: Excellent level of English required.

Salaries for ICFO Postdoctoral positions are assigned by the Selection Committee based on experience and seniority, with standard salaries ranging from levels aligned with national Ramon-y-Cajal fellowships to higher levels aligned with Marie Sklodowska-Curie individual fellowships.
The contract is offered for a period of 1 year, renewable. A family allowance is available upon request and approval for those with family charges, as described in the relevant policy.
