The Portfolio Managers oversee the administration of reinsurance accounts and contracts from establishing and maintaining contractual data, processing the reinsurance accounts and managing the related cash flow. They support the underwriters in all administrative activities related to the underwriting process.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for entries (treaties and/or facultative) in OMEGA and all further modifications
Check contractual documents, submit them to Underwriters for signature and draw their attention in case of ambiguities or changes
Check and process reinsurance accounts and claims advices (OMEGA)
Clarify discrepancies of reinsurance accounts with underwriters/cedents/brokers
Manage cash flow including the processing of outgoing/incoming payments and the follow-up on pending payments and open balances
Perform ICS controls (Internal Control System) according to relevant guidelines, where needed, pro-actively support Underwriters in the performance of these controls
Monitor client accounts/statistics by using internal reports (Business Objects) and perform own data analysis
Support Underwriters with tailored reports and statistics (Business Objects)
Ensure compliance with sanctions and embargos by scanning respective lists (Bridger) and forward to Underwriter for further investigation if needed
Ensure completeness and proper filing of underwriting and accounting documentation (DMS) as well as physical archiving, where electronic signature is legally not permitted.
Attend meetings/workshops with clients (internal/external) if required by the underwriter
Quarterly adjustments of EGPI and Loss Ratio according to Underwriters' instruction (OMEGA)
Contribute during the quarterly closings to the pre-inventory tasks (analysis of the estimated vs booked premium, of the loss ratio, cash calls, and services entries) while managing priorities.
Participate in different projects that have an impact on the department (test sessions, process and system review workshop).
Collaborate regularly in a cross-functional manner with other departments depending on the subjects that impact the lifecycle of a contract (underwriting, claim experts, closing).
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of significant working experience in (re-/insurance) accounting and underwriting assistance and/or controlling
Advanced MS Office skills
Advanced analytical skills and accuracy
Advanced communication and team collaboration skills
