We are currently looking for a Portfolio Manager for our headquarters in Madrid.
Mission:Provide a sound and digital portfolio risk management for RES Power Plants in Iberia, from the long-term horizon to the realized production, servicing both internal and external clients in a very dynamic market environment.
Functions:Asset Representation:S-P computation and risk management.Model hydro, wind & solar assets in cooperation with Quants & Trading.Maintain a dynamic and up-to-date representation of those assets and their exposures in GEMS tools and systems.Show a realistic expected value of past and future revenues of these assets.Build production and S-P forecasts.Quantify the uncertainties and risks around this expected value and expected production.Drive the continued development of a flexible and scalable platform solution for assets portfolio risk management.Client advisory on risk management:Advise clients on how to reduce risks and secure the expected market value.Help clients define a risk mandate and recommend potential hedging strategies/actions.Participate in energy management forums of clients, including senior management of internal clients like Renewables-GBU, Thermal-GBU, Energy Solutions-GBU, and external 3rd party clients (e.g., equity partners in assets' JVs).Hedge execution:Execute the hedging strategies decided by clients in the form of mandates.Enter into transactions with the Trading entities of the group.Studies and portfolio monitoring:Conduct valuation and sensitivity studies on RES portfolios under management or during acquisition processes.Provide support for similar services to Thermal and Energy Solutions BUs.Follow commodity and energy regulation evolution to understand the potential impact on positions and revenues.Help clients maximize return/risk ratio.Minimum Requirements:Team player with excellent social skills and the ability to operate in a demanding environment.Keen communicator to share a common understanding with clients, power plant operators, grid operators, and GEMS colleagues.A structured and analytical personality with a hands-on and proactive attitude.Awareness of the cost-effectiveness, risks, and profitability needs of the business.Keen to help automate processes, willing to dive into details, with a constructive and pragmatic problem-solving mindset.Higher education, preferably a university degree in a quantitative area (IT, finance, engineering, mathematics, economics) or alternatively, appropriate on-field experience.Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.Some years of relevant experience.
