Reimagine what's possible The Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the project execution function supporting project execution excellence within IG Plant Operations projects for Europe and Africa. This includes review and improvement of existing work processes, templates, tools, reporting, training, and auditing to drive better and more consistent approach to execution.
The Manager of the Project Management Office will be a key part of the Project Management team working with the Plant Project Organisation (PPO) Manager and the Project, Maintenance and Materials management Director in identifying areas for improvement, developing solutions, and driving project execution performance with a focus on the fundamentals of Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Budget. This role will also be engaged in the preparation of the organizational for future project types and growth.
The Incumbent will be expected to develop strong working relationships with the European Engineering team, and Sub Regional teams and will possess strong communication and influencing skills. The role is a working manager with a high expectation on delivering versus objectives as an individual contributor.
The successful candidate will possess at least 15 years project management experience in the industrial gases, oil, and gas with experience in projects on greenfield and brownfield site. A strong focus on work process/procedures and experience of developing and improving work practices will be key. The candidate must have the ability to communicate successfully at all levels and have excellent IT skills.
NATURE AND SCOPE The PPO Organisation are responsible for the execution of capital projects associated with existing operating assets in Europe and Africa. The projects range from plant debottlenecking, equipment replacement, plant modification, life extension up to new plant builds.
The goal is to ensure effective and efficient work processes for the Project Management function by developing the existing work processes and identifying and implementing improvements.
DIMENSIONS: Project Capital Value $0.1MM - $30MMProject Stack ~50 active projects, value $100-150MMPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Project execution functional owner, responsible for work processes, procedures and templates used in Operations projects.Assess current process and procedures and build out work process framework, procedures and RASCI charts, ensure solutions are adaptable to varying project size and complexity.
