About the roleWhat you need to know:
Professional Indemnity Sr. Underwriter Leader with expertise on A&E; (and FI Professional risk will be considered positively) in Spain.
The role will involve:Underwriting new and renewal businessDeveloping and maintaining relationships with new and existing brokersAssisting management with reportingWorking to carry out agreed FL strategiesDevelop strategies to grow A&E; business (annual and SPPI)Financial:Meet individual underwriting expectations to help team achieve budgeted financial objectives.
Business Process:Underwrite within agreed decision-making standards, limitations, and underwriting authorityAssess desirability of risk through analysis of financial reports and accounts (as required); regular contact with broker; thorough review of proposal; and review of claims history and general company informationUse designated Underwriting system(s) to streamline underwriting and information-tracking approach across Profit Centre. Input required data consistently and accuratelyProvide accurate monthly Management information including, but not limited to, submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium as requiredCustomer and Sales:Provide excellent service to brokers through consistent, timely, and proactive approach to underwritingExhibit sales-oriented behaviours, defined by Management as: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountableGenerate new business by expanding broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the marketProvide training to brokers on FL products as required either on one-to-one basis or as group presentationProvide support to broker by attending client meetings or providing client presentations as requiredExecute sales plan in identification of brokers and products to targetTake responsibility for meeting individual new business targetsTake responsibility for individual allocation of renewalsPeople:Liaise with Commercial Operations Team as policy and/or booking issues ariseBuild relationships with brokers by attending and organizing regular broker eventsEnsure all brokers and clients are treated fairlyEnsure customer-centric approachReporting/Compliance/Technical:Progress towards achieving minimum competency level as required and within the necessary timeframeGain an understanding of relevant legislation, policy coverage, directors responsibilities, insurance program structures, risk management etc.Conduct peer reviews as requiredEnsure compliance with key regulatory and risk management responsibilitiesWhat we're looking for:Extensive underwriting experience with good knowledge on Professional risk and previous experience on A&E.Experience in FI Professional risks will be a plus.Law or Business Administration degree preferredFluent Spanish and English skills (written & spoken)Strong communication and presentations skillsNegotiating skillsStrong interpersonal skills and team-spirited approachCustomer and sales focusedOutgoing and entrepreneurial personalityResult drivenWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer
