ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.LugarBarcelonaWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORISGlobal and the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona are looking for a candidate research physician specializing in internal medicine or family medicine. This position is ideal for a candidate looking for a joint position combining both clinical work and research in international health.The candidate will be part of the clinical team working at the International Health Department in the Hospital Clinic and work nationally and internationally on the diagnosis and management of travel-related diseases.The candidate will collaborate in research activities in the field of travel medicine, building on existing collaborations. Responsibilities include developing strategic research questions, applying for and procuring research grants, designing and implementing research protocols, summarizing findings and publishing results in peer-reviewed journals.The activities will be carried out in the framework of the project 'Predictors of SEVERE infections and diagnosis in travellers and migrants', funded by the Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya (2021 SGR 01558).EXPERIENCE AND TRAININGEssential Requirements:Medical Doctor with specialization in internal medicine or family medicine.Experience and knowledge on issues related to Global Health and travel medicine.Additional profiles will be considered if highly motivated researchers in other related disciplines.Desirable:Previous experience conducting clinical research.Record of obtaining research funding and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIESAttend patients in Hospital Clinic's Travel Clinic.Lead the design and development of research projects including clinical studies (epidemiologic and clinical trials) and obtain grant funding in the field of travel medicine.Lead the activities of research studies including ensuring all study procedures are of good quality and are carried out per good clinical practices, with an emphasis on the clinical management of patients under their supervision.Publish scientific manuscripts in international peer-reviewed journals
