Phd Scholarship Programme: Omic Sciences Unit Iap-782

Eurecat's Omic Sciences Department is a mixed unit made up of researchers from Rovira i Virgili University and Eurecat. It carries out its activities using the state-of-the-art infrastructures at the Centre for Omic Sciences (COS).Functions and Responsibilities: The PhD student will design the best CRISPR strategies for different models of microorganisms, including bacteria and fungi.The student will edit the genomes using molecular biology techniques, and then check the modifications by next generation sequencing.Develop metabolomics methods based on fluxomics approaches, including untargeted and targeted analysis.Participate and lead scientific publications.Provide R&D support to other colleagues.Conduct research, write drafts of scientific papers, and deliver a PhD thesis.What Eurecat can offer you: The PhD student will be part of the Center for Omic Sciences, a unique centre with all the latest metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, and genomics technology. It offers an extensive range of biomarker research services in various areas of health, food, and the environment, from project design support to the analysis and integration of the data obtained from various omics technologies.Requirements Studies and Knowledge: Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in biochemistry, biotechnology, and/or molecular biology.Conceptual analytical and evaluative skills to conduct independent research and analysis.Proficiency in data management and analysis is required.Soft Skills: The person who will join the team should be a team player and be able to build collaborative relationships.Ability to work autonomously and communicate/document results in a comprehensible and professional way.Self-motivated and passionate about the project with a strong sense of curiosity and experimentation.A certain degree of mobility is expected due to PhD requirements (Conferences and Institutional visits).Languages: High oral and written communication skills in English.High oral and written communication skills in Catalan or Spanish are desirable.#J-18808-Ljbffr
