Offer Description The Atlántico Medio University (Universidad del Atlántico Medio) is offering 3 PhD positions with scholarship to carry out research in the field of Psychology.
This predoctoral scholarship provides PhD students with a monthly stipend of €1,000 plus accommodation in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Candidates will be selected based on the merits demonstrated during the selection process.
Research Topics Learning, memory consolidation, and sleep
The relationship between executive functions and statistical learning
The connection between psychiatric conditions and learning/memory
Enhancing learning and memory through non-invasive brain stimulation
The effect of meditation on learning and memory
New media and its impact on executive functions
Mind-body training: Psychological treatments based on mindfulness
Perinatal stress as a determinant factor in psychological disorders and its influence on infant neurodevelopment
Math anxiety: The Arithmos Project in the Canary Islands

Selection Process This doctoral program values the following merits in the selection process:
Academic record of the Bachelor's degree (15%)
Academic record of the postgraduate degree (Master's, DEA, or research proficiency) (25%)
Professional experience, and experience in research and teaching (10%)
Research experience related to the program (participation in conferences, publications, involvement in research projects) (10%)
Research grants, scholarships, and awards (15%)
Motivation letter, which will be evaluated based on interest in pursuing the Doctorate. All applications must include a brief statement (maximum 800 words) outlining the reasons and interests for pursuing these studies. Motivation, the prior ability to complete a doctoral thesis in the chosen research line, and the commitment to the program will be considered. (15%)
Personal interview where the student will be invited, with sufficient notice, to attend either in person or online. The student's motivation and personal commitment to the Doctoral program will be assessed. (10%)
The minimum score for admission is 50% of the possible points.
