The medical physics instrumentation group at Instituto de Física Corpuscular ( IFIC ), CSIC - Universidad de Valencia invites applications for a PhD position funded by the JAE-PRE program of CSIC.IFIC is a joint center of the Spanish Research Council ( CSIC ) and the University of Valencia ( UV ) devoted to research in Nuclear, Particle and Astroparticle Physics, both experiment and theory, and applications to Medical Physics and other fields of Science and Technology. We are looking for a PhD student to work on fast Monte Carlo simulations of clinical proton therapy treatments using GPUs and FPGAs. Prior experience in the field is welcome but not required. The position will be located in Valencia (Spain), with possible stays in relevant European proton therapy centers.
