Offer Description Applications are invited by the UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE president for an open-ended contractual junior research position to collaborate with the funded line of research 'Lignin refining by advanced solar-powered catalytic schemes'. Reference: I-PI 78-24

The University of Alicante calls for applications to cover a job position in accordance with the following terms and conditions:
First. Number of vacancies and features of the job vacancy 1.1. Number of job vacancies: one.
1.2. Job position: PhD Junior Researcher.
1.3. Funded line of research: 'Lignin refining by advanced solar-powered catalytic schemes'.
1.4. Working hours: 37.5 hours/week in the morning/afternoon sessions.
1.5. Remuneration: €2,335 gross/monthly (plus extra payments in accordance with current regulations).
Second. First project in which the successful applicant will collaborate 2.1. Name of the project: 'Refining lignin by advanced catalytic schemes powered by sunlight- RELICS'.
2.2. Tasks to be carried out:
Demonstration of electrocatalytic systems for lignin titration.
Elucidation of the mechanism and kinetics of catalytic processes by means of various spectroscopic techniques.
Support in the supervision and direction of young researchers in research projects.
Participation in international conferences to disseminate research results.
Publication in international scientific journals.
Reactor design and modelling.
Third. Job profile Preference will be given to:
Experience in synthesis of electrocatalysts and preparation of electrodes.
Synthesis and characterisation of polymers and polymer-based composites.
Use of electrochemical techniques and interpretation of results.
Use and processing of data from characterisation techniques.
3.2. English language: Only a good command of English will be considered.
3.3. Qualifications:
Official Master's degrees in relevant fields.
PhD in a relevant programme.
Fourth. Requirements for applicants Compliance with the requirements listed below must always refer to the date of expiry of the deadline for the submission of applications:
Hold or be in the process of obtaining a PhD degree certificate.
Hold or be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
Language: B2 level of English.
Be a Spanish national or legal resident in Spain.
Be at least 16 years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.
Possess the necessary physical and mental capacities.
Must not have been dismissed by disciplinary proceedings from public service.
