Role DescriptionEnergiot seeks a highly motivated PhD Electrical or Electronic Engineer to join our innovative R&D team in Barcelona. This position is designed to align with the Torres Quevedo funding program, focusing on groundbreaking R&D projects that push the boundaries of IoT technology and energy harvesting solutions. The role will emphasize the design of AC/DC converters for magneto-piezoelectric energy harvesting devices and the development of fault detection models using self-powered IoT sensors.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch and Development:Lead R&D projects focusing on energy harvesting and IoT applications, ensuring alignment with Torres Quevedo's program objectives.Design and model AC/DC converters for magneto-piezoelectric energy harvesting devices.Develop advanced fault detection models utilizing self-powered IoT sensors for electric grids.Product Development:Oversee PCB design and circuitry optimization for next-generation IoT devices.Drive the programming and integration of microcontrollers, focusing on Texas Instruments SoCs.Innovation and Documentation:Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support grant applications, research findings, and product certifications.Contribute to publishing scientific articles and patents to advance Energiot's technological footprint.Engage in strategic partnerships to facilitate real-world testing and validation of technologies.QualificationsEssential:PhD in Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, or Telecommunication Engineering (or related field).Expertise in AC/DC converter design and energy harvesting technologies.Experience with PCB design tools and microcontroller programming.Strong knowledge of wireless communication protocols (e.G., LoRa, SigFox, I2C).Fluency in English and Spanish.A proactive, autonomous, and solution-driven attitude.Preferred:Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as COMSOL.Knowledge of EU R&D funding programs and project management experience.What We OfferFull-time, permanent contract with salary co-financed by the Torres Quevedo program .Health insurance.Flexible working hours and partial remote work.Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a high-growth startup environment.Collaborative and dynamic work culture in the heart of Barcelona.Torres Quevedo Program AlignmentThis position is tailored to meet the Torres Quevedo funding requirements, supporting the professional growth of PhD-level researchers and driving the development of innovative R&D projects within Energiot.
