The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is involved in large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe. Context And Mission
The performance tools group (tools.bsc.es) works in an open-source project where the key component is Paraver, a performance analyzer based on traces. The Dimemas simulator can be used to predict the application's behavior under different scenarios. Performance analytics modules extract insight from the raw performance data. Extrae allows capturing performance data to feed the previous tools. Provided with such tools, the analyst can generate and validate hypotheses to investigate the trails provided by the execution trace.

If you are interested in the development of performance tools, we are looking for candidates to join the team to work on R&D activities and projects.

BSc or MSc in Computer Science Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
Good programming skills in C, C++ Familiarity with code versioning tools Knowledge of parallel programming models (MPI, OpenMP, ...) At least 2-3 years of experience developing codes in C or C++ Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
Previous experience developing performance tools will be valued Previous experience using BSC performance tools will be valued Competences
Ability to work both independently and within a team Good English communication skills (spoken and written) Conditions The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, and support to relocation procedures Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement Salary: competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience Starting date: pending Applications procedure and process

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy.
