Job Overview: Payment Manager I is responsible for the financial reporting for grant payment budgets.
This includes forecasting, reconciliation and other reporting requirements identified.
Essential Job Duties: Responsible for client and clinical trial study level reporting including forecasting, accruals, reconciliation and reporting requirements associated with grant payments.
Work with study teams to establish assumptions to be included in the forecast.
Analyze actuals and update assumptions as necessary when generating forecasts.
Create ad-hoc reports as needed for study teams and clients.
Create study specific solutions to forecast and accrual related challenges.
Work with individuals across different levels and departments to produce the most accurate forecast given availability of study inputs.
Deliver accrual and forecast reports within deadlines and ensure the accuracy of the reports.
Also provide variance analysis and answer questions from project teams or clients.
Establish strong financial models when needed.
Understand and follow project specific and Grants policies and procedures.
Generate investigative site payment reports for project team review (if applicable).
Assist in the development and testing of new Grant Payment systems and processes.
As requested, contribute and participate in process improvement projects for Grant Payment team.
Maintain process documentation for accrual and forecasting work and provide trainings as needed to Internal Grant team members and operational teams.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Experience: Prior financial forecasting, analytical and reporting experience preferred.
Prior experience in a pharmaceutical or CRO environment.
Strong Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet skills.
Strong networking abilities and an ability/willingness to work with internal and external stakeholders across the globe.
Good planning, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication / writing skills.
Strong computer skills with an ability to access and leverage technology alternatives.
Flexible and adaptable to a developing work environment.
Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.

Education/Qualifications/Certifications and Licenses: University/College degree (Business or Accounting preferred) or certification in a related profession from an appropriate accredited institution (e.g., bookkeeping) AND 4 years work experience in a financial or grant administration position.
