Paralegal - Property Litigation (12 Months FTC) Wedlake Bell are recruiting a Paralegal to join our highly-regarded Property Litigation team. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. Our Property Litigation team advise on property related disputes, working with a range of clients from investors and property developers, to property occupiers. Matters can range greatly, from tenant defaults and insolvencies, through to adverse possession. The team also work closely with our transactional property teams, to resolve potential disputes as they arise. Paralegals in the Property Litigation team provide general support to Partners and fee-earners, from preparing court documentation, drafting legal documents and letters, and working with our clients to ensure queries are answered. With regular cross-firm socials and events (including our renowned yearly ski trip), you will quickly feel like part of the Wedlake Bell team Key Responsibilities Helping prepare documentation required for court proceedings and pre-action correspondence; Drafting a variety of documents and notices including Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 notices, break notices, Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 notices, section 146 Law of Property Act 1925 notices, statutory demands and letters serving schedules of dilapidations; Taking client instructions; Considering clients' queries and assisting with drafting emails of advice; Routine correspondence relating to litigation tasks; Other administrative tasks including diarising and monitoring key dates, printing, scanning, bundling, facilitating client on-boarding through drafting engagement letters and corresponding with clients regarding required documentation, assisting with preparing, reviewing and sending out bills; Dealing with routine client and/or third party queries and reporting to relevant fee earner with updates where necessary; and Undertaking legal research. Key Skills and Qualifications A degree in Law (LLB) or a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), ideally with an interest in property or commercial litigation; Prior experience in a paralegal role, preferably within property litigation, is advantageous but not essential; Strong legal research capabilities, ideally familiar with legal research and case management tools; Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines; Exceptional communication skills, comfortable in client-facing roles and maintaining professional interaction; and High levels of professionalism and integrity, with attention to detail and accuracy.
