Who You'll Work WithMcKinsey's Legal Department is seeking a collaborative, highly motivated Paralegal to join our European legal team. You will be based in one of our European offices, working closely with other paralegals and lawyers across Europe. You will be responsible for handling a wide range of paralegal tasks aiding with client support and team projects. You will liaise with a number of individuals within the firm (e.g., Partners, Finance, Corporate Tax team, Risk, office and sector leadership, local administrative leaders) as well as outside counsel in Europe. The work is fast-paced and involves problem-solving that can vary from more routine questions to complex and sophisticated legal matters.Your impact within our firmYou will play an active role in all aspects of paralegal support across the Europe based legal team including database management and tracking various initiatives/compliance processes as well as maintaining all records, contracts and reports, as needed, on active and closed matters.You will project manage waiver letters processes (including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating) as well as monitoring M&A and IRS notifications from internal system processes, logging & closing associated files in our contracts management tool including contract search, and signature where applicable. You will also collaborate with different legal teams in other jurisdictions on special projects.Your qualifications and skills3+ years of experience in a law firm setting as paralegal, contracts administrator or senior administrative support in a legal environment with generalist commercial understanding and knowledge of corporate secretarial functionsFluent in English (another European language is a plus)Outstanding interpersonal skills, including clear and effective writing and communication skillsAbility to work in an international environmentAbility to support with project managementExcellent organizational skills and judgment, including the ability to efficiently handle high volume of work effectively, recognize priorities, manage time effectively and meet deadlinesAbility to work independently with minimal supervision in an extraordinarily fast-paced environment; advanced computer skills essential (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data management systems)Confident team player who is highly collaborative and flexible and appreciates the confidential aspect of legal work
