While all Animation studios look to hire people who are creative and hard-working, Skydance Animation is specifically looking for pioneers who seek to push the limits of what the world's most collaborative art form can achieve, and to give those pioneers the space and the resources to build a new studio that's doing something different.As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision of all processes, procedures, outputs, and deliverables for a group of departments and ensuring the outputs and interactions of animation are aligned with production.Responsibilities:Manage the Production Coordinators, Production Assistants, and departmental crew.Collaborate with the Assoc.
Production Manager and Production Manager in maintaining the master schedule for production.Partner with supervisors in the set-up and running of departments.Work with the CG Sup to coordinate the technical challenges involved with the deadlines of departments.Work with Production Management to meet overall production scheduling and budget requirements and help ensure the budget and scheduling are updated as changes are made to the film's production flow and/or staffing profile.Understand how changes may affect the budget, scheduling, and overtime, and communicate the impact of changes to the Production Manager.Look ahead to ensure that weekly quotas, department milestones, and inventory expectations are met.Strategize with Department Head, production management, and possibly other Production Supervisors to resolve any productivity and/or inventory issues.Create and maintain reports that clearly illustrate department and individual artist productivity.Collaborate with Dept.
Head to cast assignments and issue deadlines to artists.Perform walk-arounds to check in with the crew.Attend Director approvals and help drive this meeting.Regularly check in with department head and production team to discuss challenges, acknowledge successes, and discuss morale issues.Manage inventory flow in/out of departments.Set expectations at meetings and Director Approvals and identify which notes should be addressed at a later time.Regularly assess department status and strategize to catch up or maintain productivity.Work with Coordinators and PAs to prioritize their daily workloads and have regular weekly meetings with them.Mentor and develop Production Coordinators and PAs.Manage crew schedules and approve vacations.Provide guidance and support to department heads in conjunction with the Production Manager and Head of Production.Lead the team, providing support, guidance, and instruction to contribute to their artistic and professional growth, ensuring all assets meet quality standards and artistic direction to achieve deadlines.Keep up with current technology trends and tools (hardware and software) that best suit production and the company in developing a stronger creative technical environment.Requirements:6+ years in VFX or animation industries.3+ years in feature production departments OR extensive experience on 2 shows.Experience working cross-site with remote crews on 2+ films is preferred.Software requirements: ShotGun, Microsoft Excel and Word, Outlook/Gmail, and knowledge of production tracking databases.Excellent working knowledge of film production pipeline and methodologies.Advanced English level.Spanish oral and written is desirable.Skydance is a diversified media company founded by David Ellison in 2010 to create high-quality, event-level entertainment for global audiences.
