OUR DEPARTMENT
Our Corporate Finance department offers advisory services for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), primary equity capital markets (ECM) transactions and balance sheet restructuring, combining the expertise across 9 sector groups with a focused international approach. This role will sit in the Financial Institutions Coverage group, covering Banks, Insurance and diversified financials.
PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE ROLE
- Purpose: Support the team in the origination, structuring and execution of transactions.
- Scope: part of the EMEA FIC Corporate Finance team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Marketing:
- Prepare presentation slides under the supervision and on the basis of clear guidelines of the Associate.
- Stay involved / informed after the pitch.
- Appropriate exposure to clients when possible under direct supervision of Director / VP.
- Check and cross check to ensure reliability of own work.
Execution:
- Assist VP / Associate in key steps of an execution.
- Prepare models autonomously (trading/ transaction multiples, Business Plan and DDM) or under supervision of Associate for more complex analyses (LBO, Merger Model).
- Prepare presentations to clients autonomously under the supervision of Associate.
- Prepare sell side materials (descriptive sections of Information Memorandum, data rooms, drafting of management presentation).
- Check and cross check to ensure reliability of own work.
Project Management:
- Take responsibility for the tasks delegated by VP / Associate.
- Circulate correctly and in a timely manner information to senior members of the team.
- Organise work process with interns.
Team responsibilities:
- Contribute to recruitment and training of interns.
- Can be required to work on specific team projects.
Presentation & communication:
- Present and explain clearly results of research & analyses.
- Good skills in presentation.
- Proficient in English as a second language.
Working methods:
- Demonstrate good personal organisation skills.
- Demonstrate rigour and reliability for her/his own work (eye for details).
- Able to work within a team.
- Coach interns properly.
REQUIREMENTS Technical competencies:
- Good knowledge of accounting, financial and valuation techniques.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Good modelling skills (DDM, multiples, basic LBO model, basic merger model and value creation analyses).
- Knowledge of process and key steps for major types of transactions (sell side, buy side, LBO, public offer, IPO).
- Good knowledge of CF techniques and procedures.
Profile:
- Strong academic background, Master Degree in Finance, Management, Economics, Engineering area/s.
- Ideally successful current or past experience in FIC Corporate Finance Sector (preferably in Banking or Assurance entities).
- Strong numerical and analytical ability, aptitude to think strategically.
- Autonomous and multi-tasking.
- Capability to work under tight deadlines, excellent time management and prioritisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English is compulsory, as well as Spanish; any other European languages a plus.
- Team spirit, collaborative and inclusive way of working.
- At ease with Microsoft Office tools, FactSet, Bloomberg and other information database.
