FIC - DIRECTOR CORPORATE FINANCE TYPICAL PROFILE 6 to 10 years of experience in Corporate Finance or equivalent with a strong track record of origination in either M&A or FIG coverage environment. Strong sector knowledge and existing established client and industry relationships within the sector, especially in Iberia and with banks, insurers, and specialised financial services. Show clear leadership potential and the ability to gain trust from clients and generate revenues. A strong reputation in FIG M&A and ECM with clients and the external community.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES MarketingSuggest marketing initiatives (new ideas).Responsible for pitch books with minimal supervision of MD/D.Prepare outline and draft key sections.Supervise and check preparation of other sections.Settle meetings with potential clients, in a coordinated manner with more senior bankers.Deliver full presentation to the client in a professional manner.Follow situations/clients on a long-term basis.ExecutionManage day-to-day execution of deals.May act as project leader with support of MD/D depending on deal size.Handle complex processes and cope with challenging structures.Interact daily with client's project manager and deal captains at other advisors.Supervise preparation of all materials, including models and valuations.Review all materials (including valuation) thoroughly.Project ManagementPrepare internal procedures (committees, mandates).Organise work processes for the full team, manage workload and priorities of junior members.Check with rigor and take full responsibility and ownership of all outputs from junior members.Spot issues timely and propose solutions.Keep MD/D informed about progress/bottlenecks and ensure timely involvement of MD/D.CORE ATTRIBUTES Presentation and CommunicationAble to prepare and deliver a whole presentation to top management.Capable of leading meetings with clients, counterparts or co-advisers on all deal matters (business models, deal approach, process/tactics, DD-reports, SPA, completion mechanisms).Demonstrate strong drafting skills for all kinds of documents, including legal materials.Proficient in English as a second language.Build relationships at an appropriate level of seniority with clients.Understand and manage client expectations.Management SkillsDemonstrate strong deal team management skills.Set up appropriate team for a project and maintain commitment throughout a project.Able to delegate according to seniority and allocate tasks properly and efficiently in a clear manner.Solve conflicting organisational issues.Experience in the appraisal of younger professionals (both end-of-project and annual).In-service training of Analysts and Associates.Working MethodsEnsure quality control of all materials produced.Demonstrate rigor and reliability for own work.Able to conduct quality checks for delegated work including complex models and spot inconsistencies while keeping an overall view of the desired outcome.
