This recognition highlights the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to align practices and procedures with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.The roleWe are seeking a motivated Operations Manager to coordinate and ensure that all operational services run smoothly and meet high-quality standards.The new team member will work closely with the EGA Team Head and a diverse group of professionals, including system administrators, developers, data curators, project managers, and helpdesk staff, in close collaboration with the European Bioinformatics Institute to coordinate Helpdesk activities, the development of core services, and operations with our partners and relevant competitive projects. By working across various functions, the candidate will help guarantee that the EGA offers the best service to the global research community. Additionally, the Operations Technician will contribute to competitive projects in cases where the EGA Service is participating as a service provider, ensuring our involvement is well-coordinated, timely, and impactful.The successful candidate will provide oversight and planning for the EGA helpdesk and operations team. This includes coordinating day-to-day priorities, identifying training needs, ensuring a consistent high-quality customer experience, and ensuring continuity of helpdesk and operations service. The EGA team is managed using agile methodologies, combining a mix of the RT ticketing system, JIRA, and Confluence in a collaborative environment. The EGA is currently transitioning from being a centralized to a federated resource, which will require new practices and guidelines to be drafted as new nodes become operational.About the EGAThe EGA (European Genome-Phenome Archive, www.Ega-archive.Org) is a resource for permanent secure archiving and sharing of human genomics. We host more than 16 petabytes of data, including over 3700 studies and 8600 datasets. The EGA, co-managed by the CRG (www.Crg.Eu) and the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI, www.Ebi.Ac.Uk), is an active partner in numerous international and national projects and contributes to establishing international standards in genomics and data security.
