The institute The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries.

About the role As a pivotal member of our team at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), you will take on responsibilities investigating and resolving operational processes daily, contributing to the project National IMPaCT-Data.
Leveraging your skills and problem-solving abilities, you will meticulously investigate issues to identify their root causes.
Once pinpointed, you will apply your expertise to implement effective solutions, ensuring the seamless functioning of the EGA services and databases.
Through your proactiveness, you will not only address immediate challenges but also contribute to the continuous improvement and streamlining of our operational processes, driving our organisation and project success.
Professional experience Must have Expertise in advanced PostgreSQL: Proficiency in PostgreSQL, including PL/pgSQL and replication Advanced Python skills Knowledge of AWS, specifically for S3, EC2, SES Familiarity with messaging software, specifically RabbitMQ Knowledge of Jenkins for automating software development processes, ensuring smooth integration and deployment Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines to efficiently process and manage large volumes of data Advanced Linux systems administration Knowledge of Docker and related tooling Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Big Data database technologies Education and training You hold a Degree in Computational Science or a related field Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position Proven experience in Linux distributions, as well as experience in databases, system security, and related technologies Languages You are fluent in English, as it is the working language of the group Competences You have exceptional organizational skills You are an autonomous problem-solver You are proficient in writing documentation You are accurate and detail-oriented You are a team player Desirable but not required/ Nice to have C programming language experience Genomics data expertise: knowledge of genomics data, including data types, tools, pipelines, and indexing technologies You speak Spanish and/or Catalan The Offer – Working conditions Contract duration: long-term contract, linked to the duration of the project Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales Target start date: as soon as possible We provide a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructures and unique professional career development opportunities.
