ICS (International Consumer Services) Operational Excellence aims to ensure that ICS has a robust first line of defense, playing an active role in supporting the Business meet its business objectives and demonstrating an effective control framework.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join the team as an operational risk analyst supporting Spain ICS business. This is an interesting and diverse role and will suit a motivated and process-oriented individual who is keen to work with the business to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and ensure we place them at the heart of what we do.
Responsibilities:Ensure efficient and effective core operational risk programme within Spain ICS, including support and advise on core programs such as issue management, new product approval, third party life cycle, regulatory change management and internal audit support, among others.Support the AEESA Legal Entity Governance structure by performing analysis and monitoring of key risks, issues and changes relevant to AEESA and its branches.Support Outsourcing Representative of AEESA legal entity by having a good understanding of existing agreements and upcoming changes. Lead the draft documentation of outsourcing communications to Bank of Spain.Ensure effective proactive monitoring of Op Risk control metrics enabling action to be taken to identify and mitigate risk in Spain to drive improvements to the Spain control environment.Provide metrics analysis to the business and to the Legal Entity to facilitate good understanding of risk exposure, support risk-informed decision making. Support implementation of appropriate plans to address risks.Support business in designing and executing effective new controls for different areas of risk, processes, or third-party relationships.Actively assess areas of opportunity to increase business and OE efficiency, eliminating nonvalue added activities, including controls no longer effective.Deploy the Issue Management framework to ensure timely event reporting and appropriate management of operational risk events and corrective action plans in line with policy and standards.Ensure risks and issues are effectively identified, assessed, prioritised, and managed to deliver on local business, regulatory and AXP-wide expectations.Qualifications & Skills:Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong focus on customers, both internal and external, is a critical requirement.Action-oriented to facilitate closure of open points. Demonstrates creative and highly collaborative approach to solving problems.Resilient team player with ability to develop relationships with leaders, peers, and control and compliance teams.Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with good commercial orientation.Proven experience in relationship building, influencing, and partnering across a geographically dispersed group of business and control professionals to drive effective issue identification and resolution.Self-motivated, self-driven and comfortable navigating and working in a complex, fast paced environment, often with strict deadlines and commitments.Fluent English both spoken and written.Ability to occasionally travel.Why American Express?
