Job Description Summary: The Onshore Wind Engineering Senior Program Manager (PM) will have responsibility for planning and tracking program activities, trading off business risks with schedule demands, and project financial accountability for programs within the Advanced Technology, Controls Operability, Chief Engineers Office, and Engineering PMO portfolios. This specific PM role will focus on Program Management of Electrical Safety Programs, including the development of new methodologies and technologies that will enhance overall product safety. To be successful in this role, you will need to have prior experience in program management or project engineering. A technical bachelor's degree is required. Experience in safety systems, electrical systems, or advanced technologies is desirable.
Essential Responsibilities:Use the principles and tools of LEAN (daily management, action plans, problem-solving reports, and standard work) to achieve program objectives efficiently while continuously learning and improving processes and operating rhythms.Partner with Project Leaders and Functional Managers to ensure programs deliver established outcomes and KPIs on schedule and on budget, meeting all quality and process requirements.Implement, manage, and communicate changes to ensure goals and objectives are met throughout program lifecycles.Establish and implement resource strategies to fulfill objectives.Coordinate interdependencies of programs within the portfolio.Drive clarity of program scope, outcomes, and deliverables aligning to strategic technology and product objectives.Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes for an area or business segment.Communicate regularly and transparently with Project Leaders, Functional Managers, and Business Leaders concerning project issues and decisions.Analyze program risks and demonstrate effective risk mitigation and problem-solving to meet and exceed expected program outcomes.Present or otherwise accurately report program status to senior business leaders.Work with planner/schedulers to create and update project schedules in P6 Primavera.Lead and oversee design trade-offs and cost-benefit analysis.Assure proper documentation of technical, financial, and quality data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.Accountable for process compliance.Drive simplification and standardization of work and best practices into engineering analyses, program execution, and validation.Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Operations Management, or equivalent from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Program Management or 7 years of experience in project engineering.
