The DFDS Group is looking for a Corporate Tax Specialist to fill a new position in the Strait of Gibraltar Business Unit. Reporting to the Finance Department and working with the Indirect Tax & Compliance Departments at DFDS Group Head Office, you will act as a genuine advisor and contact for the Group's legal entities in Spain and Morocco on tax matters, and to a lesser extent on legal matters and integration of the Business Unit.
Key responsibilities:
Acting as the first point of contact for Spain and Morocco day-to-day tax issues. Supervision of Spanish & Moroccan tax returns and helping accounting team on these matters. Lead a team of two people that currently take care of the day-to-day tax issues. Tax support for closing of Annual Accounts. Managing and updating tax documentation, in particular by drafting and updating internal procedures and ensuring that they are properly applied Participates in DFDS Group projects by providing tax recommendations and identifying and implementing tax optimization measures. Carries out constant, high-quality tax monitoring, and is responsible for passing on information to teams in the finance and accounting departments, by drafting notes and running in-house training courses Education
Law or Administration degree. Specific courses or education in tax or fiscal matters is positively valued. Languages
Must: Very high level of English required, (spoken and written). Desired: French is a plus. Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role to the one described above, in an international environment and in companies with a business turnover >€50M. or in tax advisory, preferred in a Big-Four-Company. Analytical and methodical person, with the ability to self-manage and to plan tasks to meet deadlines. Experience in consolidated tax group of companies or tax consolidation will be valued positively. Team player, used to working under pressure and with deadlines. Shipping industry experience is ideal, although not essential. Computer skills
SAP or Microsoft D365 knowledge is a plus. Working knowledge Microsoft Office products. Ideal: High level of Excel. Compensation
